Absolute Resonance

Chapter 1041: The End

Chapter 1041: The End

As Li Luo stood there feeling depressed and confused, he heard a whoosh behind him. Qin Yi had flown over and landed by his side.

Clearly, she had been released from that state of petrification as well. She looked at the same directoin as him with a look of confusion on her charming face. "Li Luo, where did that strange King go?"

"He left," Li Luo replied as he restrained the wild array of emotions he was feeling.

"He left?" Qin Yi was baffled by that response. That King had put in great effort to sneak into the Spiritual Resonance Cave, yet he had left without doing anything?

"What exactly happened? Where is Miss Lingjing?" Qin Yi asked when she noticed that Li Lingjing was nowhere to be seen.

However, Li Luo did not reply to this question. He simply turned around and began walking in the opposite direction.

Seeing his reaction, a shocking thought surfaced within Qin Yi's mind. "Could it be that Li Lingjing had been killed by the mysterious King? It would have been effortless for a King to finish off someone at the Heavenly Pearl Tier.

"Perhaps Li Luo managed to stay alive because he has a special protective treasure from the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li?"

With the limited amount of information available, this was Qin Yi's best guess.

Nonetheless, the departure of the King a piece of good news. It was clear from the way he had acted that he was not a friend to them. If he wanted them gone, they would all be dead by now.

Li Luo was not concerned with Qin Yi's internal thoughts. He continued to walk until he reached the area where Lu Qing'er was frozen within the ice.

She was curled up in the shroud of ice, eyes tightly shut. There was a certain charm to this silent beauty as her snow-like skin looked even clearer with the icy backdrop. She was the living embodiment of a snow fairy.

Li Luo tried to break the ice seal, but his effort was in vain. His resonant power froze as soon as it came into contact with the ice. In fact, he seemed to be exacerbating the situation, as the ice seal thickened in response.

His face was gloomy. The frosty seal that surrounded Lu Qing'er would not be easy to resolve. At the very least, it was not something he was capable of doing with his level of strength. If he tried to do it forcibly, he could end up hurting her.

Li Luo took a deep breath and whispered to the beauty that lay in the ice, "Qing'er, don't worry. If the Golden Dragon Bank can't help you, I'll bring you back to the Dragon's Fang Lineage and ask Grandpa for help. He'll surely be able to undo this." Lu Qing'er had ended up in this state because she had gone through great lengths to save him. There was no way he would sit idly by.

As Li Luo continued to check on her, noises could be heard coming from a distance. Li Wuyuan, Qin Ying, and those under the control of the Soul Eater True Devil started to awaken at this point.

The Soul Eater True Devil did not have much time to be concerned about his puppets due to the great battle earlier. As such, they had not suffered any major injuries apart from losing control of their bodies.

Everyone stood up with blank expressions, all in a daze. It was only several breaths later that they seemed to recall what happened to them and resonant power surged within their bodies.

However, their expressions soon turned into looks of surprise.

The sea of blood that had filled the sky in their memories had vanished. The True Devil Other that had threatened their lives was gone without a trace as well.

The sky was clear, and it was as if what they had experienced earlier was nothing more than a mirage.

However, the faint traces of corruption that remained on their bodies clearly told them that the True Devil Other had really existed.

"What's that?!" Suddenly, a shocked shout came from someone. They stared blankly at the deep canyon that had appeared on the ancient plains. There was no end to it, and it almost seemed like it divided the plain into two.

There was nothing of this sort before!

This meant that something catastrophic had occurred when they were unconscious.

Was this done by a human? If so, which expert was it?

Everyone looked at each other. There was surprise and confusion in their eyes.

"Li Luo, what happened? Where's the True Devil Other?" Li Wuyuan asked as he looked over to Li Luo, who was not too far away from him. He had remained calm, unlike the others.

Li Luo glanced over at him but could not be bothered to respond. He looked over at Li Fengyi and Li Jingtao as he asked, "Elder Brother, Second Sister, are you alright?"

The two of them shook their heads in confusion.

Li Fuling rubbed her forehead as she asked, "Li Luo, where's Lingjing?" She was the first to notice that Li Lingjing wasn't around.

Li Luo fell silent when he heard this question.

"Young Mistress!"

At this moment, Elder Sister Jin screamed in panic and rushed over to the ice sculpture. Her face was pale as she asked, "Young Mistress, what happened to you? Li Luo, what did she do?!"

Everyone looked over in surprise too. The atmosphere immediately turned chaotic as everyone could tell by now that something major had happened.

Li Luo could not help but sigh tiredly as he watched the scene before him unfold. He was in no mood to explain anything to them.

"Guys, please stay calm."

At this point, Qin Yi walked over slowly. Her soft voice soothed everyone as she took a glance at the depressed Li Luo. She briefly explained to the rest what had happened earlier.

Everyone fell into a long moment of silence after listening to her. Countless gazes of disbelief turned towards Li Luo.

"Li Luo, you... you killed the True Devil Other?" Jiang Wanyu from the Heavenly Origin Ancient College asked in complete disbelief. Her arrogant attitude from before was completely gone. After all, what Qin Yi had told them was basically unbelievable.

He was still a three-pearl. Although he had shown that he was not at all weaker than someone at the Lesser Heavenly Resonance Tier when he fought Tian Miao earlier, it was still a far cry compared to that creature.

After all, the True Devil Other was as strong as Duke!

Li Wuyuan and Li Hongli found it hard to believe as well. Even though the words had come from Qin Yi, it seemed ludicrous.

No matter how strong Li Luo was, how could he have killed the True Devil?

A complicated look then surfaced on Qin Yi's charming face as she softly continued, "After killing the True Devil Other, a mysterious King appeared. My belief is that he is the one orchestrating everything from the background."

Hearing this, the crowd was at a loss for words. Everyone had the same stupefied expressions. Was Qin Yi trying to mess with them?

A King?!

The Spiritual Resonance Cave was just a training ground for juniors. Their strength was supposed to be restricted to the Lesser Heavenly Resonance Tier and below. Just how far could their potential be stretched? Yet her blunt words told them that a true King expert had popped up out of nowhere.

An actual King!

They were considered to be the mightiest beings, even amongst the Heavenly Emperor powers. A stamp of their foot could send the entire Heavenly Origin Divine Continent trembling. Yet she was saying that one had snuck into this location?

This was just like a bunch of young wolves being confronted with a giant dragon whilst they were learning to hunt.

"Although it sounds unbelievable, it's the truth. Just look at this deep chasm that was left behind in the wake of the battle. Li Luo struck the King with a treasure given to him by the Dragon's Fang Lineage. Of course, it wasn't his own strength—it was intended to protect his life in a time of danger."

Everyone's heads were spinning upon hearing this.

This deep chasm that split the humongous plain was caused by Li Luo? He had attempted to cut down a King?

Everyone here was a mere mortal, so what was it that gave him the guts to attempt that?

The crowd no longer held any doubts regarding the explanation. Although what Qin Yi had said was almost impossible, there was clearly no need for her to weave such an extravagant lie if she had wanted to deceive them.

"W-what happened to the King in the end? Don't tell me Li Luo killed him." Zong Sha from the Heavenly Origin Ancient College broke the stalemate. Shock was scrawled all over his face. If Qin Yi nodded at this point, he felt like he might just collapse in disbelief on the spot.

Fortunately, Qin Yi responded with a bitter smile and shook her head. "That's impossible, obviously. The King retaliated and we were all stripped of our senses. When I awoke, the King had already left. Not only that, Li Lingjing had disappeared as well. I suspect that... she's been murdered."

Speaking of this, Qin Yi appeared a little sad. It was far too easy for a King to deal with them. Although Li Lingjing was a nine-pearl, she was no different from an ant in the eyes of a King.

"What?!" Everyone was astounded when they heard this.

"Cousin Lingjing has been killed?!" Li Fengyi and Li Jingtao was at a loss for words.

Li Fuling had the biggest reaction out of all of them. Her face was pale and she shook her head repeatedly. "Impossible. Impossible!"

Nonetheless, the image of a despondent Li Luo was all they needed to confirm the questions in their hearts.

The expressions of Li Wuyuan and Li Hongli changed completely as well. Although they were not very close to Li Lingjing, she was still a part of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li. They could not help but feel sorrowful that she had been killed.

Meanwhile, Qin Ying and the others felt a sense of relief when they heard this. Li Lingjing's talent was truly extraordinary. She had reached the nine-pearl tier, meaning she would surely become an indomitable existence amongst her generation once she broke into the Heavenly Resonance Tier. Now that she was dead, there'd ne one less competitor for them in the future. As everyone was lost in their own thoughts after hearing the huge surprise from Qin Yi, countless flocks of birds suddenly flew towards them from the horizon. The bodies of the birds were filled with energy runes. When they appeared, a loud voice resounded.

"The training exercise in the Spiritual Resonance Cave has ended. All teams, please exit immediately! Exit immediately!"

As the birds scanned the surroundings, they emitted extremely strong energy fluctuations. It was as if they were searching for enemies. Clearly, the experts standing guard outside had sensed the unusual developments in the Spiritual Resonance Cave and had come to take a look using special means. However, their appearance was far too late.

The birds scouted the surrounding area but were unable to spot any foes. They then swooped down in front of the crowd and transformed into countless energy vortexes.

The crowd heaved sighs of relief at this sight.

Their stay in the Spiritual Resonance Cave had finally come to an end.
