Chapter 1208: Dragon's Fang Guardians

The slumbering Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf was awoken by Li Luo, though it was still a little muddle-headed. It had just assisted Li Luo in beating a third-grade True Devil and was still recuperating.

The sudden awakening caused the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf to feel a little annoyed. "You brat! You’re getting a little too irritating. You're only at the Greater Heavenly Resonance Tier, how do you keep getting into these sticky situations? What sort of strong opponent did you encounter now?"

Li Luo responded with an amused voice, "Nothing too amazing, just a sixth-grade Duke, that's all."

"Sixth-grade Duke!" The Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf's shocked cry caused the crimson bracelet to shake. It couldn't help but stand up in the sealed space. It quickly spread its senses out into the world and finally noticed the outrageous energy undulations coming from the sixth-grade Duke suppressing the group.

Even the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf almost had its hairs stand up in fright as it roared, "Brat! Don't you think you've been acting a bit too brazenly? A Greater Heavenly Resonance Tier brat managing to aggravate a True Devil is one thing, but now you're fighting a sixth-grade Duke? Don't you think you're a little too crazy?!"

Li Luo explained, "I didn't have a choice. I wasn't the one looking for them, they were trying to ambush me!"

The Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf's roar caused the space to tremble. "I only have the strength of a second-grade Duke. What can I possibly do against this opponent? If you want to die, can you just release me first!?" The Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf truly felt weary. It simply couldn't count the number of times it had been forced into Li Luo’s fights. Alas, the stakes and results had gotten more and more excessive and now he was even being forced into a fight with a sixth-grade Duke?!

If it had that sort of strength to begin with, it wouldn't be stuck with him at all!

Li Luo felt a little embarrassed at this point. It did seem that he was asking a bit too much from the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf. However, everyone was simply on the same boat at the moment, and if something happened to him, the wolf wouldn't be able to survive either.

"I can't beat a sixth-grade Duke! Really! Think of another plan!" the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf roared as it abandoned itself to despair.

Li Luo sighed upon hearing its words. "I thought that our friendship had transcended boundaries after all these years."

The Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf snorted in its head. “Who would want to be this brat's friend? Let me out of here and see if I stay!”

Li Luo's voice continued, "I originally wanted to let my grandpa release your seal once I entered the Duke Stage. I was headed to the World End's River to find opportunities for you. Although spirit beast cultivation does not require constructing Duke Bergfrieds, there are Foundational Spirit Treasures that can be of great aid to you."

The Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf fell silent as it asked suspiciously, "Brat, when have you ever been so kind?"

"Brother Wolf, you've followed me for many years. Haven't you realized how I treat the ones around me?" Li Luo grinned.

The Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf did not retort. Ever since it had been forced to journey with him, it had gained an understanding of his personality. Furthermore, it understood how terrifying Li Luo's talent was. In the future, he wouldn’t lose out to even his fiancee. And so long as he did not die young, he would likely walk the Path of Ascension to the end as well.

A Transcendent Duke was an expert that stood at the peak even amongst other experts. With this relationship, it could even return to the Heavenly Wolf race one day. Additionally, Li Luo was from the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li, who had a great relationship with the dragon race.

The worst part was that it had worked with Li Luo for too many years and the cost to itself had been immense. If it gave up now, wouldn't that be a waste of all its efforts so far? With this line of thought, it sighed helplessly.

At the rate Li Luo was provoking stronger and stronger enemies, it had doubts that it would live long enough to see his rise. The opponent was a sixth-grade Duke this time. Perhaps the next time it would be a King? Just like in the Spiritual Resonance Cave.

Thinking of this, the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf's hairs stood on end.

Even so, its strength began to unceasingly flow into Li Luo's body.

"Brother Wolf, you are true to your friends."

Although the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf had clearly launched into an outburst earlier, it would always help out in a time of need.

Whilst Li Luo was gathering power from the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf, Jiang Qing'e had taken action. The Ten-Pillar Duke Bergfried above her head shone with radiant light, akin to a gigantic sun as it rose into the air.

Light resonant power churned in the skies above, illuminating the entire area.

Jiang Qing'e's gaze had turned icy as she displayed the Duke Art she had prepared prior. A gigantic sword of light arose from her Duke Bergfried with a surface like glass, studded with seven impeccable jewels and radiating a sacred aura.

Boundless amounts of sacred sword energy to spill out of it, seemingly able to purify all of the corruption and filth in this world.

The Seven Treasures Glazed Sword of Light!

The strength of this Duke Art far surpassed what she had been capable of in the Fifth Minor Earthly Branch Realm.

She was now a Duke, one with a Ten-Pillar Duke Bergfried after all.

There was also a sacred halo of light that shrouded the sword. It was her dual resonance power!

Within the resonant power were some abstruse runes that elevated it closer in quality to resonance origin itself. This was something that only Dukes were capable of.

Jiang Qing'e did not hesitate. The exquisite Seven Treasures Glazed Sword of Light shot across the sky, slicing the firmament itself apart. It then collided directly with the golden pagoda.

Bang!

At that moment, the entire world started to shake as a frightening energy tempest kicked up, flattening the world beneath.

The golden pagoda shook heavily, and the pressure applied on the group lessened.

This caused the sixth-grade Duke to be both shocked and furious as he glared at Jiang Qing'e. His killing intent thickened as he shouted, "That pure light resonant power, it must be a ninth-grade! You also have a Ten-Pillar Duke Bergfried and even managed to master a Destiny-grade Duke Art! When did the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li give birth to such a genius in this generation?!"

The Duke stretched his hand out, and the whole world seemed to be contained within his grasp. He then viciously clenched his fist.

The golden pagoda rumbled and continued its unabated descent. The beautiful glazed sword of light let out a cry as it was forced back. After all, it was hard to breach the gap between the two of them.

"Sister Qing'e, it's my turn to help out!"

The bright side was that she wasn't the only one. Li Luo had finally completed his preparations. Fiendish energy burst forth from his body like a hurricane.

As Li Luo's own strength advanced, he was better capable of wielding the boundless energy from the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf. He was almost able to wield it completely and freely whilst the side effects had lessened immensely.

A mysterious, massive sword formation appeared in the air behind Li Luo.

Three Dragon Fang Swords took form, releasing copious amounts of sword energy.

This was none other than the Myriad Resonances Dragon Fang Sword Formation.

Li Luo was well aware of how strong a sixth-grade Duke was, so he knew that even with the aid of the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf, the gap was an uncrossable chasm. Thus, he had to use his strongest move right off the bat.

The three Dragon Fang Swords began to emit endless amounts of sword energy that fused into a single dark dragon. At the tip of its head was a sinister bone that resembled a sword, and it let out an indescribably sharp aura that seemed capable of cutting anything apart.

Triple resonances Dragon Fang Sword, Void Obliteration Dragon!

Li Luo exhaled heavily as his palm pushed outwards. The terrifying amount of sword energy that had condensed and taken the form of a dark dragon blasted through the air, directly clashing with the golden pagoda.

Clang!

At that instant, a pristine clang reverberated through the skies.

A storm of energy kicked up once again, this time leaving rifts in the void around them.

The golden pagoda, on the other hand, was being pushed back, and the suppressive force keeping them in place disappeared.

The sixth-grade Duke’s eyes were full of disbelief. The scene before him was unimaginable. He was a sixth-grade Duke and he had actually been blocked by a first-grade Duke and a Greater Heavenly Resonance Tier junior?

Had the younger generation surpassed him? For a moment, he doubted his own strength. During that brief moment of disbelief, Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e glanced at each other and abandoned any thoughts of continuing. They knew that their resistance was short-lived and that even with their strongest moves, they could only block and not triumph over their opponent.

It was foolish to think they could actually chase this Duke away. Li Hongyou hurriedly retreated with the pair as well.

When the sixth-grade Duke realized that they were fleeing yet again, his face turned green. If he were to let Li Luo go, Qin Lian would likely rip him apart.

"Be suppressed!" The Duke immediately formed a hand seal with both hands, and his six Duke Bergfrieds began to rumble. Pillars of dense energy descended upon the golden pagoda, causing it to shine brilliantly. The base of the pagoda began to push downwards yet again, shattering both the sword of light and the black dragon made of sword energy.

As it continued to fall, the entrance to the pagoda locked on to the trio, who were doing their best to retreat.

In the depths of the golden pagoda was a torrent of golden light that began to churn. An explosive roar could be heard as though a devastating blow was being prepared.

A few moments later, the sixth-grade Duke pointed outwards and shouted, "Heavenly Golden Mysterious Water!"

Golden light shot out of the mouth of the pagoda. The light exuded an aura of sharpness and contained golden liquid. It was like a golden river was rushing towards the trio.

The golden river pierced through the air like a ten-thousand-meter-long sword, slicing through everything in its path.

Clearly, this Duke was no longer holding back. He had utilized his mightiest move to bring an end to things.

The golden river churned as it split the sky.

Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e's gazes turned gloomy. This Duke was simply too strong. Even if they worked together, it would be too difficult to win.

They glanced at each other yet again. It seemed as though the only way forward was to delay for as long as possible. They were extremely close to Heavenly Dragon Peak now, and if the people there could discover this disturbance, they would dispatch experts to investigate.

Right when the two had resolved themselves to bitterly hold on, they heard the booming of ancient drums. The entire world shook in tandem with the beat.

The trio glanced towards the source of the sound, then they saw a sudden wave of energy burst upwards before them, covering the horizon like endlessly rolling clouds.

Amidst the clouds were countless figures who were approaching in formation through the skies.

Everything seemed to tremble before their march.

As the extremely powerful army crossed through the sky, a deep and loud voice boomed from afar.

"Vagrant scum, you dare to cause trouble in front of Heavenly Dragon Peak?

"Dragon's Fang Guardians, assemble!"

The loud command was followed by a beam of gigantic blade light. The presence of that blade energy seemed to sweep everything in its wake away, and it struck the golden river.

Bang!

The heavens and earth shook and golden droplets fell.
