Chapter 1224 – Xie Yufeng’s Visit

“Oh? Xiao Ji and Xiao Ben are getting restless already?” Lin Yi was stunned, “But there really wasn’t any mister warrior… Wait, they’re not talking about Er Goudan, are they?”

“Er Goudan? Who is that?” Pengzhan asked.

“It’s an old friend of mine from my village, he came with medicine. I’ll tell you about what happened yesterday…” Lin Yi told him about how Goudan went to the lion to get revenge, sending two of the Pi’s to the hospital.

“So that’s why! They got that powerful Er Goudan to go to your place, thinking that he didn’t know you and would injure you- that’s why they were so enthusiastic when they came over!” Pengzhan understood now, “But they sure were in a good mood after losing their practitioners, coming to me right away?”

“Haha, probably beacuse they wouldn’t be able to threaten you once the news broke about the House Pi’s practitioners entering the hospital.” Lin Yi analyzed with a smile, “That’s why they were in such a rush.”

“If so, I don’t have to worry then! But that friend of yours sure is strong. I heard that the Pi masters were really powerful, and they actually got sent to the hospital! If House Xiao were to know that this Er Goudan was your old friend, they’d probably be in a panic!” Pengzhan laughed, swiping all his worry away. Why would they have any reason to fear House Xiao at all with Lin Yi and Er Goudan’s protection? Goudan could just send those two Pi’s back to the hospital after they came out!

“Haha, leave them be- if they come causing trouble again, I’ll ask Goudan to scare them and scam some money off of them!” Lin Yi smiled.

“That’s true! I’ll call Old Ding now and talk about the donations- I’ll leave Yao Yao and Shu to you!” Pengzhan said.

After hanging up, Pengzhan called the headmaster to discuss plans regarding the donation. There was a singing competition the school was organizing too, and getting some big names to donate money couldn’t be done with no ceremony at all. You couldn’t just ask people to come and give away money for nothing.

And so Ding Binggong’s plan was to combine the charity event and the singing competition. THey could have some other attractions and organize the donations as the competition went on, letting the big names judge and choose the winner of the singers. This could lighten up the atmosphere, as well as show their respect for the donators.

Pengzhan was quite pleased with this suggestion. Ding Binggong was quite a capable man who had managed to keep Songshan High good and tidy all these years after all. This was why he always kept him in charge!

Otherwise, when talking about a private school in the center of Songshan – this required a very capable headmaster, otherwise the names of other schools would easily surpass theirs! But just having capability and no restraint wasn’t enough, either. If he accepted bribes, then the school’s condition would go down. If the principal took money and was greedy, wouldn’t the teachers be the same? The entire school would be ruined.

But Ding Binggong was a just man, and he was an able man. This was why Pengzhan trusted him!

After things were decided, Binggong gathered the vice-headmaster and the dean Wang Zhifeng to the meeting room, discussing the charity event…

Song Lingshan walked out of the director’s office, her face solemn and her eyebrows locked.

When Yang Huaijun was the captain, there weren’t that many things happening. Right when she took on the position, however, all the big and small cases of Songshan starting coming in, making it lively! The disappearance cases didn’t seem to follow any rules, and it applied to people from different jobs!

Butchers, drivers, vendors, garbage collectors, waiters, security guards, floor sweepers… Lingshan didn’t know what to do with this mess in front of her!

These people all went missing after some small conflict with someone else. The people they beat up, however, weren’t even injured very heavily- it wasn’t something you would turn into a fugitive for!

These sorts of cases would be easily ignored normally, and this was how the police treated it at first. Only after she realized something was wrong was it reported to the director.

Today, Director Chen got Lingshan together to discuss the case- telling her that she must solve it. These cases may seem to be a coincidence, but they had to look for the people who ran away! A lot of people had people in their family run away as well, reporting to the police about it.

This hadn’t caused a big impact in society yet, but it had already induced panic in some small groups. In order to keep things from worsening, Director Chen needed Lingshan to break the case as soon as possible!

Lingshan felt a bit of a headache as she looked at the pile of files in front of her. It felt like she was jumping into this mess for no reason- if she hadn’t reported this to the director, she wouldn’t have been in this mess at all! But she didnt’ regret it- she was a just woman, and of course she wouldn’t be able to just ignore these things.

A knocking came from outside her office door.

“Come in!” Lingshan didn’t think much- this was working hours, after all. Plenty of people looked for her.

“Lingshan, you busy?” It was Xie Yufeng- the person she didn’t want to see the most!

Lingshan’s eyebrows twitched as she heard the voice, “What are you doing here?”

“Haha, it’s lunchtime soon- I wanted to invite you for lunch, but I know that you’re busy, and you weren’t there when I came over. Your coworkers said you went to the director to talk about work, and so I bought some lunch boxes!” With that, he showed off the plastic bag in his hand, smiling, “You didn’t eat yet, right? Let’s eat together?”

Lingshan frowned- yes, what Yufeng was doing would be considered kind and considerate. If it were Lin Yi, she’d be so happy she would lose her mind! But this was Xie Yufeng!

“I’m not hungry, you eat it yourself. I still have work to do!” Lingshan said flatly as she looked back at the papers.

“People are made of iron and rice is made of steel- you need to eat to be strong!” Yufeng smiled, “Us two are both practitioners, we can’t just not eat! If it’s somewhere with good and plentiful qi, it would be fine, we could use practitioner to sustain ourselves, but we’re in the city with small amounts of qi!”
