"Your last words?"

Selwyn stood on the second floor of the hall, looking at these losers and preparing to activate the amulet at any moment to release the werewolves from their chains. In a closed room, a very rare wizard can stand against twelve such creatures… Especially such modified, improved ones.

How glad Selwyn was when he found out about the Dark Lord's displeasure with Malfoy's offspring. Now there is an opportunity to displace the cheeky son of an equally cheeky, but dead dad. And now that the Dark Lord is assured that Greengrass will not come to his side because of Malfoy's mistake, he has ordered the elimination of the older generation. You can't get to the old Greengrass, but killing the girl is like taking candy from a Muggle.

The guy downstairs… He has style. It's even a pity that we have to kill such a talented guy. He could serve the Selwyns and the Dark Lord well. Obviously, he did not disdain body training, unlike many. For a moment, Selwyn remembered his younger years and the fact that he looked nothing like Knight - shallow, thin... But pure-blood and strong!

"You think," the guy below spoke up, looking around at everyone present, "that you're safe behind the barrier? It's only an illusion. A reassuring delusion, supposedly protecting you. Enjoy your last moments of life, for I have come... to... exact... my... vengeance."

Selwyn wanted to laugh, but something told him to activate the amulet. Twelve huge werewolves broke out of the pens, rushing at the two wizards in the middle of the hall with unprecedented speed. Selwyn was already in anticipation of their screams, but Knight only lazily waved his hand with a wand, pointing to the ceiling and a cloud of hundreds of thousands of bloody strings seemed to rise around him and the Greengrass girl, in the blink of an eye, turning the twelve werewolves into bloody pulp that rolled down at the feet of the two.

Problem...

" And how are you going to take revenge," Selwyn exclaimed in a less confident voice, addressing the two wizards under the barrier. "And to whom? The Dark Lord? I've made this barrier impenetrable, and even if you get out, you'll have to go through us first!"

"You did?" so much arrogance and mockery were in the voice of the damned blond that Selwyn grimaced at how much it hurt him. "You have no idea what you've done..."

The guy's eyes lit up with a faint blue light.

"I will step over your cold corpses."

The barrier surrounding Greengrass and Knight trembled. Subordinates, personally issued by the Dark Lord, took out their wands, preparing to fight back. Suddenly, a lot of black circles of different sizes appeared all over the hall, just hanging in space. One circle, no bigger than a saucer, appeared in front of Knight, and he pointed his wand at it. The sense of danger sounded the alarm, and Selwyn put the most powerful Protego around him.

"Shall we start?" Knight asked, quickly whispering a spell.

Selwyn could not help but recognize the humming jet of crimson Fiendfyre that struck the black circle in front of Knight, but Selwyn was shocked by something else — flames burst out of all such circles around the hall in different directions, immediately merging into powerful streams, sweeping away the protection of other Death Eaters, incinerating them, walls, decorative elements. Selwyn watched with wide-open eyes as if time had slowed down, allowing him to see how the world was melting into ever-changing nightmarish images of crimson flames, uncontrollably devouring everything around, merging into one ring.

"Run!" was the only thought in Selwyn's head, and his body hastened to realize it itself. He turned around and ran, and even the doors, to which a second ago he was standing with his back, opened in a direction not provided for by design. He ran through the corridors without remembering himself, leaving behind the last death cries of the horror of his newly found comrades and the hum of Fiendfyre.

After running through a couple of corridors, Selwyn found the courage to turn around, but only to jump out of the window at the sight of Knight and Greengrass calmly following him. Out of fear, he forgot how to conjure, and the heartbeats merged into a monotonous hum in his ears. Selwyn ran into the woods, but when he turned around, he saw Knight and Greengrass again. The saving border of the anti-apparation barrier was felt very close, it seemed that you only needed to stretch out your hand, but black creatures the size of a bear jumped out of the forest. Selwyn didn't see how the same creatures were now leaving his house, walking calmly toward Greengrass following Knight.

"A-a... Avada Kedavra!!!" shouted Selwyn, pointing his wand at one of the creatures, but the powerful green beam of the killing curse did nothing to it.

Someone grabbed Selwyn by the back. From a sharp jerk back, the whole world turned upside down in his eyes. There was no wand in his hands. Knight stepped on his chest from above, bending down and looking straight into his face. Selwyn tried to conjure something, but to his horror, he realized that he couldn't, looking into the burning blue eyes.

"Ha-ha-ha!" the wizard lying with his back to the ground burst out in a fit of hysterical laughter. "You can't win! Ha-ha-ha... Can't escape! The Dark Lord is great and mighty!!!"

" I..." Knight spoke calmly and harshly. "Better."

"Ha ha ha... In what?!"

"In everything."

The world faded for Selwyn, and the phrase, as if through the thickness of water, reached the consciousness fading under the influence of spells:

"I went a little too far with the cold corpses...."
