Chapter 805 - Which one is the array’s core?

Chapter 805: Which one is the array’s core?

“I’ve burnt so many to death, but I don’t know how many are left.” Su Xiao Xiao furrowed his eyebrows when he smelt the stench.

“Regardless of how many are left, I doubt my journey ahead will be easy.” Sima You Yue said. “These aren’t the only worms in the cemetery. I just hope there won’t be that many inside.”

“I doubt it. Those worms need a certain condition to survive.” It was rare for Jiang Jun Zhe to be awake. Those peach blossom eyes that were for once, bright and clear instead of laced with sleep, were rather attractive.

“There are many cemeteries in the violet water swamp. Everyone was attracted by the fengshui in here. However, this here, right in the centre, is the best.” Sima You Yue said, “However, because it used to be the best, it is now the worst.”

“There are many worms that are found in the cemetery. However, here, because of the spirit qi, it has also reproduced other creatures with difficulty.” Jiang Jun Zhe said, “these mirage worms should be an anomaly.

“Senior, you speak with such confidence. Are you very familiar with this?’ Sima You Yue lifted her head and looked at Jiang Jun Zhe.

“I can’t say I understand, but I do know a little.” Jiang Jun Zhe said lightly.

Sima You Yue looked at him. Why did she feel as if the way he was saying was as if he was really familiar with it and had come across many old tombs before?

But would this guy really? She must be mistaken.

“Let’s continue heading in.” Jiang Jun Zhe seemed to be very confident about the situation inside. He crossed his arms behind his back and walked in confidently.

Sima you saw his totally unconcerned appearance and chose to believe him, entering together.

They kept walking forwards and quickly reached the place that Jing Wen had told them about before. The road there was simple and they didn’t end up in any dangerous situation.

“We’ve walked for such a long time without encountering anything. I’m guessing that whatever used to be in there is gone.” Su Xiao Xiao said

“Even if there used to be something, after so much time has passed, the spirit qi should have been completely absorbed.’ Han Miao Shuang said.

“But if it is really great, wouldn’t we have benefitted easily?” Kong Xiang Yi beamed.

“I’m just afraid that there’s nothing good left in there.” Jiang Jun Zhe rained on her parade.

“Why?”

“The spirit qi’s presence can not only exterminate the creatures living in there, it can absorb the spirit energy.” Sima You Yue explained, “if there’s something with spirit energy in there, the spirit energy should have been absorbed away. But we’re not necessarily left with nothing. We might get lucky and obtain something.”

Kong Xiang Yi saw that Sima You Yue seemed to have known about it long ago and said tentatively, “You already knew?”

“Of course! That’s why I knew that there’s no danger here.” Sima You Yue said, “I did guess so in the beginning, but I didn’t think it would be that clean.”

“Since there’s nothing good in there, what are we still doing here?”

“Picking up the scraps.”

“…”

Kong Xiang Yi, Jiang Jun Zhe and the others had on the same expressions and were extremely speechless. It turns out that she didn’t know.

“I don’t know either.” Ximen Feng said lightly.

The moment Kong Xiang Yi heard them, she laughed. She didn’t care whether or not they meant it. The fact that he said it made her happy.

“Let’s go. We’ll go check out what’s happening inside.” Sima You Yue said.

They were currently still at the outskirts of the cemetery. This kind of places wouldn’t usually have anything good. It was only possible to get things if they went further in.

As they went into a stone house, Kong Xiang Yi pointed at a toppled-over oil lamp in the corner, saying, “Why have we walked past this room so many times? This oil lamp. The recent few rooms have had the exact same ones.”

Everyone stopped walking and Han Miao Shuang walked over, picking up the oil lamp. He tossed it somewhere else before placing a jade bottle there.

“Let’s walk a little more.”

They continued walking and left via a different exit. They went into a few tens of metres long passageway and entered a stone house.

Inside the stone house was an oil lamp with a jade bottle placed in the exact same position.

“Seems that we have entered an illusion array.” Sima You Yue said, “Although it looks like we’re going forwards, we have just been meandering inside this house.”

“When did we enter the illusion array? How did I not notice it at all?” Su Xiao Xiao wasn’t familiar with arrays.

“This array is more powerful than the current illusion arrays.” Sima You Yue said, “I have to study it a bit ”

The fact that she didn’t sense it at all meant that it was no average illusion array. If she wanted to break through it, she would have to spend quite a bit of time.

She wondered whether or not it was because of their trust in her, but even thought they were locked in here, nobody panicked at all. The one who was sleeping, continued to sleep. The one who was eating, continued to eat. The ones who were chatting continued to chat. Nobody asked her if they were able to leave or not.

Sima You Yue searched the entire house for a long time, but she couldn’t find a single hint of the array. If she couldn’t even find the array, how was she supposed to break through it?

“Junior Brother, you’ve been thinking for half a day. Why don’t you fill your belly?” Han Miao Shuang asked when she saw Sima You Yue furrowing her eyebrows.

Sima You Yue lifted her head and glanced at her, shaking her head. “You can go ahead.”

After speaking, she lowered her head and began to calculate.

Han Miao Shuang took the item he was eating and squatted beside her, saying, “Junior Brother, almost half a day has passed. Do you have any leads?”

“I do have a lead, but I’m still looking for the core of the array.” Sima You Yue said, “As long as I find the core and break it, I’ll be able to break through the array.”

“What is the core?” Han Miao Shuang asked.

Sima You Yue pointed at the decorations of the house, “these few items.”

An oil lamp, a rusty dagger, a dust-filled tray, a wine jug, and a few scattered wine glasses. There was also a little stone.

“Then just destroy them all. Then, you won’t be confused.”

“I can’t do that.” Sima You Yue hurriedly stopped her, “This illusion array is different from the others. There’s only one core. However, there are many fake ones. If you destroy the fake core, we might fall even deeper into the illusion. It would be even harder to leave, then. That’s why we have to figure out the real core. Only then can we break this illusion array.”

Han Miao Shuang pursed her lips, “Troublesome.”

“It really is.’ Sima You Yue rubbed the space between her eyebrows before she looked over once more at the items in the stone house. The stone house was bare. There was nothing apart from these few items.

The little stone could be eliminated, but the oil lamp, sword, tray, wine jug, wine glasses… Which one was the real core?

She took all the things in front of her and took a look. She touched each one, momentarily unsure.

“I’m guessing that this person must be a person who knows how to enjoy life.” Jiang Jun Zhe woke up for a moment and said.

Sima You Yue’s eyes shone when she heard what he said.
