All in the hopes that he would treat their daughter better…

Cheng Qingchong stood in the toilet for a long time before moving back to her office. She sat staring at her computer for a while before finally pulling the drawer open to retrieve the card that Qin Yinan had given her.

She had been hesitating whether to call him for help or not, but she really didn’t have the courage to ask this favor from him. She knew, better than anyone, how much he hated her, so why would he help her?

But she really didn’t have the heart to see her parents saddened. Furthermore, knowing her mother, after she found out that she was divorced, she would start to worry endlessly about her life. Cheng Qingchong couldn’t bear to have that on her conscience.

Cheng Qingchong alternated between the choices until her shift ended. When she reached home, she finally summoned the courage to give Qin Yinan’s secretary a call. Qin Yinan’s secretary recorded her name and phone number, and he promised her that he would inform Qin Yinan of her call first thing in the morning.

Cheng Qingchong thanked him before hanging up. Lying in bed, Cheng Qingchong, who hadn’t had a good night’s sleep, stared at the ceiling until her drowsiness caught up to her.

Qin Yinan had to be personally involved in many things since his company was new. His schedule was jam-packed; there were endless meetings for him to attend, countless documents to read, and numerous projects to approve. Even during recess that afternoon, he was reading some document at the company canteen.

After lunch, on the way back to his office, a female worker ran past in a hurry holding a lot of documents. She accidentally knocked into Qin Yinan, and all her files fluttered to the floor. The female worker shivered in fear and repeated multiple times, “I’m so sorry, CEO Qin.”

Qin Yinan didn’t get angered in any way; he even asked her kindly, “Are you alright?”

Following which, he bent down to help her gather the documents. The female worker was so shocked by this development that all she could do was bow and thank him repeatedly.

Qin Yinan smiled gently at her and told her, “Don’t worry, it’s fine. Just remember to be careful next time, don’t hurt yourself.”

Then he took a step back to let the girl past first and continued to his own office.

Back in his office, Qin Yinan booted up his computer and started to work.

After a while, the secretary came in with a cup of coffee. Even though Qin Yinan was typing on his computer, he stopped to thank him politely.

The secretary seemed to have gotten used to Qin Yinan’s kind demeanor. He stood before his desk and reported the situation around the company. The head of the HR department had made some mistake that morning, and as the secretary went over the report, he snuck a look at Qin Yinan’s expression. He thought he would be able to catch a rare dissatisfaction on his boss’ face, but Qin Yinan merely concluded it with a “remind him to be more careful next time,” before moving on to another topic.

The secretary continued for another ten minutes before finishing everything on his file.

Qin Yinan thought that was all, but when he flipped open another document, his secretary said, “CEO Qin, there’s one more thing.”

Qin Yinan stared at the computer screen and asked gently, “Yes?”

“A lady called this morning with the intention to schedule a meeting with CEO Qin.”
