According to the memories of the Pharaoh of the last generation, the Divine Beast Golden Roc had extremely powerful battle capabilities and could freely move through the Space Turbulence when it reached maturity. It could easily tear Space Cracks apart and move through the various dimensions.

Back then, if not for the rare occurrence of the Space Ion Storm, if not to protect the people on its back, it would definitely not have sustained these severe injuries. Even so, it could still do battle with the mysterious elder in the Graveyard of Deities and Demons. It not only heavily injured the other party, it even made the other party leave behind his valuable Teleportation Portal and Ground Ring, then carried the Pharaoh of the first generation and tore apart a Space Crack to leave the treacherous Graveyard of Deities and Demons.

A Wandering Divine Beast, the Golden Roc definitely had abilities of a Wandering Divine Beast!

Looking at the giant Golden Roc that was lying near the Wizard’s Pagoda and bathing in the white fog, Yang Ling once again felt a deep sense of shock and was incredibly excited. As long as he could revive this Magical Beast that had the abilities of a Wandering Divine Beast, the strength of the Magical Beast Army would increase exponentially. When that time comes, even a Core Deity would become fodder, never able to return if they approached Yang Ling, much less a Divine Duty Expert!

Just like the Law of Space, the Law of Souls was also mysterious and obscure, making it incredibly difficult to cultivate. An ordinary fighter would not be able to revive and awaken the Golden Roc even if they managed to obtain it, much less tame it and use it for themselves. However, to Yang Ling who was a Great Soul Wizard, this was not an impossibility. The question was just how long it would take.

The main techniques of a Great Soul Wizard were the mysterious and powerful Soul Wizard Techniques. Soul Control, in some sense, is the Law of Souls that the people in this world spoke about!

In order to revive the Golden Roc as soon as possible, Yang Ling slowly walked around its body, his massive Divine Knowledge turning into strands of invisible threads, slowly inspecting the injuries of the Golden Roc. He did not miss any suspicious spots.

Over this period of time, after having absorbed a large amount of the white fog released by the Wizard’s Pagoda, both the internal and external injuries of the Golden Roc had improved drastically, but there was still some time before a full recovery. The injuries it had sustained back then were too severe, its spine was nearly broken in two and its wings nearly fell off. The fact that it was able to tear apart a Space Crack and leave the Graveyard of Deities and Demons with its dying breath back then was an unbelievable miracle!

“The external wounds are easy to deal with, and I can think of ways to treat its internal injuries to hasten the speed of its recovery, but as for its soul…” Yang Ling knit his brows when he sensed the ripples of energy coming from within the body of the Golden Roc.

The energy within the body of the Golden Roc was massive, tens of times, or even hundreds of times stronger than any Magical Beast or powerful fighter he had encountered in the past. However, after sensing it closely, Yang Ling found it hard to detect a pattern within those ripples of energy. The energy ripples were messy and unorganized, circulating within its body without regularity. It seemed as though it had lost control over its massive amount of energy, or that it was being repressed by something.

“Tsk tsk, sealing itself, the Golden Roc is powerful indeed!”

Yang Ling shook his head after being unable to detect a pattern in the Golden Roc’s ripples of energy despite trying for a great deal of time. He silently recited a Wizard Mantra after deliberating for a moment, casting a technique to force out a few drops of his own Blood Essence, then gently pressed them onto the head of the Golden Roc. He wanted to see if he could directly subjugate the Golden Roc with his blood now that he had advanced to become a Mid-level Soul Wizard, then think of ways to slowly treat its injuries.

One drop, two drops…

More and more Blood Essence entered the body of the Golden Roc, but it showed no signs of being subjugated. His massive Wizard Power and Mental Energy vanished the moment it entered the body of the Golden Roc like a pebble into the ocean. The situation was much worse than he had expected!

What should I do?

Yang Ling knit his brows as he looked at the motionless Giant Roc. If he continued like this, he might die from the lack of blood even before he tamed the Golden Roc. However, now that he had expended a substantial amount of Blood Essence, Wizard Power, and Mental Energy, who knows when he would be able to tame the Divine Wandering Beast Golden Roc if he was to give up now, much less rapidly treat its injuries.

“Lord, Lord…”

Seeing Yang Ling become paler and paler, his body trembling slightly, the Corpse Wizard King, Hydra, and the rest of the group shouted in shock. They did not know how to help Yang Ling, nor did they dare to walk over to understand the situation, afraid that they would disrupt Yang Ling’s spell. They did not know what to do at that moment.

“Quick, relay my orders, gather all of the devotees of the Wizard Sect and get them to pray at a nearby Wizard’s Pagoda immediately. Quick!” After a moment’s deliberation, the Six-winged Angel Leader Ophilia gave a rushed order, hoping that the power of faith in the Great Wizard would help Yang Ling avert the crisis at such a critical juncture.

While she did not require the power of faith, she knew how important the power of faith was to powerful fighters!

As an experienced Six-winged Angel Leader, Ophilia had been to countless physical dimensions and had had dealings with many Popes. She knew deeply the importance of the power of faith to a deity.

Thump…

The Magical Formation shimmered continuously as teams after teams of soldiers relaying the orders teleported out. Soon, the melancholic ring of bells could be heard all throughout the Wizard Pagoda’s Space, urgently gathering all of the devotees from the various lands. Under the leadership of the missionaries, the devotees groveled on the ground as they prayed.

The melancholic ring of bells rang throughout the land as the sincere prayers released pure Wish Power, gathering to form raging rivers through the replicas of the Wizard’s Pagoda, then pooling together to create a vast ocean. Over this period of time, more and more people have been introduced into the Wizard’s Pagoda Space. With the efforts of the many Blood Angels, the number of devotees who believed in the Great Wizard Yang Ling had also increased, allowing them to gather a large amount of pure Wish Power within a short amount of time.

Whoosh…

The pure Wish Power entered Yang Ling’s body through his head, nourishing his nearly withered Soul Crystal and transforming into a wave of majestic Mental Energy. The Wizard’s Pagoda also released a substantial amount of thick white fog, enveloping both Yang Ling and the Golden Roc before entering Yang Ling’s body through his pores. The white fog nourished his nearly exhausted Wizard Core, allowing it to pulse Wizard Power.

After obtaining the nourishment of the Wish Power and support from the white fog, Yang Ling, who had just been hesitant, felt a jolt of energy. He went all out, increasing the speed of his subjugation. After absorbing a substantial amount of Blood Essence, Wizard Power, and Mental Energy, mysterious and obscure symbols finally started to appear on the body of the Golden Roc, rapidly circling around the creature.

Thump, thump, thump…

After a wave of silver light flashed past, the heart of the Golden Roc that had stopped beating for many years started to move, getting faster and faster, low and forceful. Gold light flashed throughout its body, releasing a wave of violent energy ripples. The ripples were accompanied by an unparalleled pressure, surging past the hearts of the Corpse Wizard King, Dark Dragon King, and the rest of the group like an earthquake.

At that instant, even Hydra who was about to advance to become a High-level Divine Beast trembled, her soul shaking a little, much less the Giant Ape King who only had the abilities of a Level Surpassing Magical Beast! The pressure of a Wandering Divine Beast, even if it was one that was heavily injured and not fully awakened, was not something that a High-level Divine Beast could withstand!

Whoosh…

After its heart started beating again, the Golden Roc started to manically absorb the energy within the Wizard Pagoda’s Space, quickly forming an alarming vortex of energy in the air. It devoured the white fog released by the Wizard’s Pagoda. Its fearsome-looking scars started to throb gently, releasing bales of silver light. It was as if it was healing itself at a rapid rate. The unorganized energy within its body became more and more regular. A feeling of familiarity quickly welled up in Yang Ling’s heart.

Waves of a hazy Soul Ripple repeated itself deep within the soul of the Golden Roc. It felt as though the creature was trying to excitedly express something, or it was asking for his help. Yang Ling did not know what it meant at that moment, but the feeling he got from it was familiar.

“A Golden Roc spreading its wings, from now on, I’ll call you the Red-crowned Golden Roc. Recuperate well, I hope that you will not let me down after you’ve recovered!” Looking at the red crown on the head of the Golden Roc, then sensing its faint yet familiar Soul Ripples, Yang Ling gently patted on its tightly-knit scales.

Under normal circumstances, a Magical Beast would quickly recover after being subjugated. The reason for the Golden Roc not awakening just yet should be due to the fact that it had sustained injuries that were immensely severe. However, Yang Ling was extremely satisfied that he had successfully subjugated it with his blood and dispelled the seal the Golden Roc had placed on itself.

Under normal circumstances, it would not be so easy to tame even a High-level Divine Beast, much less a Wandering Divine Beast that was said to be even more powerful than an average Core Deity!

It was enough that he managed to successfully subjugate the creature with his blood and keep the Golden Roc as his own. The severity of its injuries was no longer a problem, nor was the lack of energy. Now, it all boils down to how fast it could recover. Looking at the alarming vortex of energy in the air, then seeing the thick white fog around him, Yang Ling believed that the day in which the Golden Roc would awaken and recover was not too far away.

When that time comes, he would have another super fighter by his side, a super fighter that could fly freely within the Space Turbulence! Then, he would be able to head to the Magical Beast Dimension and Dimension of Death to explore, as well as legitimately search for traces of the Ancient Wizards.

“Perhaps, with the Golden Roc, I would be able to find the path back to Earth without finding out the secrets of the Ancient Wizards. I would be able to pass through the many dimensions and return to the beautiful blue planet, the home where I grew up in!” Seeing the alarming wingspan of the Golden Roc, touching its hard, cold scales, Yang Ling had a thought.

He had transformed from a man building up his empire from scratch to a high and mighty lord, from a helpless fighter to a powerful Soul Wizard and High-level Deity. These two years could be said to be the most exciting time of his life. He had his share of fear stemming from helplessness, joy coming from success, sadness from his failures… He had felt intense hatred for the Pope, as well as deep feelings for the elf Sophia and Yuna…

Even though the future was fraught with danger and filled with various traps, even if he had nearly died without even leaving behind a corpse on many occasions, Yang Ling had had no regrets. He was not willing, nor could he return to the nine-to-five life back on Earth. He could no longer return to the bland, tasteless life he had lived back then. The only reason for his longing for a path back to Earth was because he wanted to go back to see his family and the hometown in which he grew up.

Even if he one day managed to become a Core Deity, or even a Dimensional Guardian or Dimensional Wanderer who looked down on all life, it would not erase the fact that he had come from Earth, nor could it erase the deep feelings he had for his hometown.
