Chapter 606: Mazoga

Most of the Trolls in Zul’Farrak were monsters designed for players to farm for EXP and equipment.

However, that was not the case for the one that was before them – it appeared friendly to Lu Li and the others.

Lu Li asked Hachi Chan to talk to it. It was better for a quest-minded person to handle this type of NPC that could trigger a quest.

"Uncle, are you okay? Is there anything I can do for you?"

As Hachi Chan spoke, the Troll stopped its painful groaning and weakly said, "My name is Mazoga and I’m about to die."

Mazoga!

Lu Li finally realized who this person was; he was the owner of Sul’Thraze Whiplash.

Mazoga’s situation was quite pitiful. He was completely covered in blood and his mind seemed to be wandering. Assuming that nothing else happened, he probably wouldn’t live for more than 30 minutes.

"Uncle, you won’t die. I will definitely save you." Despite the fact that he was a Troll, Hachi Chan quickly developed a great compassion for him.

As a rich young girl, she instinctively felt sympathetic towards those that were pitiful.

"Evil Essence…I need Evil Essence," Mazoga hissed after struggling.

Everyone had some Evil Essence in their bag; it was material used for Alchemy and wasn’t that expensive. There were quite a few Trolls that dropped this on the way here and they could be stacked, so the players just picked them up.

Hachi Chan pulled out a few Evil Essences from her backpack and forced them into Mazoga’s mouth.

The Troll’s body quickly recovered, and his pale color quickly regenerated into a healthy green.

"How are you feeling now?" Hachi Chan asked happily.

"Haha, do you think I’ve come back to life?" Mazoga shook his head mockingly as he continued, "To survive in this harsh desert, the Sandfury Trolls must know all the secrets of the evil power. Drinking it will give me strength… but surely you must know that it is also the strongest poison. Well, there’s no going back now."

"Ah, what should I do? If it’s poison, why do you want to drink it?’ Hachi Chan was dumbfounded.

"If I don’t have it I’ll die, but if I have it I’ll also die. What difference does it make?" Mazoga lamented as he sat up and leaned against the rock." They all said that I had betrayed the Sandfury, but they don’t know the truth. I don’t want to take the truth into the grave with me; I want everyone to know."

At that point, Lu Li knew that the quest was about to start and felt relieved.

"We’re all listening. Tell us uncle." Hachi Chan didn’t care that Mazoga was dirty and sat directly in front of him. She stared with her big round eyes as she held her cheeks, looking like she earnestly wanted to listen to the story.

The Troll drank another bottle of evil Essence and looked at Moonlight. His eyes stared at the two one-handed swords in his grasp for a while before saying, "I see you have also come for these two swords. No matter, I am a descendant of Makaaria and I sought a sacrifice for the darkness. My father and I, with a few others, set out from Zul’Farrak to look for the legendary sword Sul’Thraze so we could restore the glory of Sandfury…"

Mazoga paused, then continued his long story with a wry smile, "But what happened was one betrayal after another. I stabbed my own kind in the back for the sake of the sword and Chief Ukorz also committed atrocious deeds in order to protect himself."

The story was very sad, but no party seem innocent.

"Uncle, the two swords don’t fit together," Hachi Chan couldn’t help truthfully say. A group of them had tried to work out how to make the legendary sword for quite some time.

"No, young lady, you’re wrong," Mazoga said as he shook his head. "I know you probably don’t feel any more compassion towards me now that I’ve told you my story, but I assure you that the sword is real."

"Uncle, you aren’t a bad person. You’re different from them," Hachi Chan said seriously.

The other Trolls had attacked them the moment they saw them, while this Troll took the time to tell them his story. The System’s daughter was telling the truth.

Mazoga was a little moved when he heard her say that he was a good person. "Alright, since you’ve killed Chief Ukorz Sandscalp for me, I have decided to give you this item."

While he was speaking, he took out an item that was jet black.

Lu Li and others weren’t sure what they were looking at, so they waited for him to reveal what it was and what it could do.

"If you put the two swords and this item together, they will combine." Mazoga’s eyes were a little frantic as the sword should have belonged to him, but it was no use to him now.

Moonlight placed the item onto the two swords and they slowly merged together. The System then prompted him that he had successfully synthesized the Sul’Thraze Whiplash.

The Sul’Thraze Whiplash was an exquisite Dark Gold weapon that combined the advantages of the two Gold swords. It had the option to split and merge and could quickly do so with just a thought.

Unfortunately, Moonlight couldn’t equip this large two two-handed weapon.

Although the two one-handed swords were level 35, the single large sword became level 40 after its synthesis.

Azure Sea Breeze and Moonlight’s plans to try it had failed as they were still level 37 and 38, respectively. They still had a long way to go.

Mazoga watched the birth of Sul’Thraze as his eyes gradually dimmed.

He had struggled over a lifetime for this item, and he done it all in vain. The era of the Trolls really was over; the race that once dominated Azeroth was eventually going to come to an end. Such was the way that life unraveled itself.

"Thank you. Uncle, do you need our help for anything?" Hachi Chan asked. This little girl was a pure hearted person.

"Oh Nuoya, have you taken me out of this dirty city yet?" Mazoga seemed to be drifting in and out of consciousness. The Evil Essence couldn’t bring anyone back to life; it was just a poison that temporarily increased vitality.

Lu Li and the others were silent as they didn’t know what to do.

Mazoga struggled for a moment before opening his eyes and flashing back to his usual insane look. "Gahz’rilla! They have given it to Gahz’rilla! My Nuoya!"

"We will help you kill Gah’zrilla," Lu Li said seriously.

Gahz’rilla was the last Boss of Zul’Farrak. The objective of the Instance Dungeon was to kill all the Bosses, so this favor could easily be completed.

"Soak the sand in blood; let Gahz’rilla get what every Sandfury deserves – an eternal death, forever stuck in an evil nightmare and incapable of awakening," Mazoga uttered.
