Chapter 633: The Wheel

After Lu Li used the key, a circle of light appeared under him and he was dragged into the ancient ruins.

This was an underground ruin that belonged to the Trolls. The ruin was separated into levels, each guarded by a semi-Boss. Players entered the ruin on level one, which was the top floor.

Lu Li took some time to get used to the dark and moved forward at a steady pace.

All the monsters on the first floor were level 20, so there was no need for him to be in a rush.

He entered the main hall from a hallway, raised his dagger and pounced onto a Gnoll, not caring about how many of them were grouped together.

These dumb Gnolls were reflections from the ruin. According to legends, youngsters from the ancient kingdom had to train themselves in places like these and weren't allowed to leave until they reached a certain standard.

He could almost one-shot these level 20 monsters.

Because of his assassin gear, Lu Li's damage grew higher and higher. In the end, no one could compete against him.

Of course, there was no experienc or loot for killing these monsters. If it wasn't for the fact that he had to complete level 1 to enter level 2, he wouldn't have ever bothered to waste his time here.

The Troll ruins in the Hinterlands was a great location to help players level up.

The huge crowd of monsters on first floor would translate to a great amount of experience for newbie players if they had the help of a group.

After he killed hundreds of these Gnolls, a semi-Boss Gnoll appeared before Lu Li. This semi-Boss was level 25 and had 15,000 health; it was a piece of cake.

It dropped a Steel equipment that Lu Li didn't even bother to pick up.

System: Congratulations to Lu Li for completing the first floor of the Trolls Trial Tower. Final grade SSS.

Nice!

Even though this was within expectations, Lu Li was still excited when he heard the system announcement – SSS was the highest grade.

There were a wide variety of attributes that contributed to the grading system. Lu Li wasn't too sure about the system either; he just knew that the score was based on the number of players involved and the time taken to complete the floor. The less players and less amount of time used, the better the final grade.

Although Lu Li didn't get receive experience from the Gnolls, the SSS grade provided him with a pleasant little surprise. His experience bar moved slightly.

A wheel also appeared before him.

There were eight boxes on the wheel which contained eight different items. When he spun the wheel, he would receive the item that the pointer in the center landed on.

The better his final grades, the better these items in the wheel would be. Lu Li had achieved an SSS this time, so not only was there a Slit Throat skill book, but there was also a basic mounting skill book. Besides these, the other items were Steel equips which could be ignored.

Lu Li already had Slit Throat, but it was still currently one of the best skills for Thieves. There were still plenty of players who needed the skill book in Ruling Sword.

As for the mounting skill book, it was now possible to obtain it through quests. However, these quests were complex and players had to wait for a week for it to refresh if they happened to fail. As such, this skill book could still sell for a decent amount.

Not to mention, this was only the wheel for the first floor.

When Lu Li had entered the game in his previous life, the gaming company had already reduced the rewards from this ruin. It was almost impossible for two exquisite skill books like these to appear in one spin of the wheel at the same time.

"God bless," Lu Li said as he rubbed his hands and prayed like Azure Sea Breeze.

Although Lu Li seemed like a master player in front of others, he was just another average human being when he was by himself.

He held onto a side of the wheel and spun.

The wheel spun quickly from slow to fast, then slowed down again after it reached a certain speed.

Lu Li stared at the big pointer at the center of the wheel and hoped that it would land on a skill book.

Unfortunately, Lu Li wasn't lucky enough. The pointer landed on a Steel grade item and refused to move.

Lu Li shook his head and sighed. He wasn't angry; he always maintained a positive attitude.

After collecting his prize, he entered the second floor. The monsters on the second floor were level 25 Slimes. They were slightly stronger, but not strong enough for Lu Li to be cautious about them.

The semi-Boss for this floor was a level 30 monster that dropped a Silver grade equip. Lu Li picked it up; it was good enough to sell for his repair costs.

The assassin equipment was too good – he was able to quickly boost its effect to its maximum, giving him 200% base damage. It wasn't hard for him to achieve another SSS grade.

After receiving an experience reward, another wheel appeared before him.

Lu Li's eyes lit up; it was a grey kitten.

When did he became so lucky? A rare pet had actually appeared on his wheel for the second floor.

Kittens had always been popular among the pets available. Although this gray kitten was a slight downgrade when compared to white kittens, no one knew how to catch these kittens at this point. It was hard to estimate the value of this gray kitten.

There were plenty of rich boys who would be willing to spend a load of money to buy this and impress girls.

Of course, Lu Li wasn't planning to sell it.

He was going to give this to Lu Xin; she had always liked small animals. Lu Li didn't care about how much this kitten would sell for – as long as his sister liked it, he wouldn't sell it, no matter what.

However, this all depended on him spinning the wheel and winning the rare pet.

The other very worthwhile reward was a skill point, which was worth as much as a Gold or Dark Gold equips.

There was only one skill book — Backstab, which was totally useless, while the other five spots were level 25 Steel grade equips.

For my sister!

Lu Li grabbed onto the side of the wheel and spun it with determination.

It didn't really matter how hard you spun the wheel – it would spin at the same speed regardless. There was no way for anyone to control the wheel; the final results were purely based on luck.

The red pointer slowed down as it passed by each box with a 'tick'. Lu Li was so anxious that he almost forgot to breathe.

"Please be a pet, please be a pet, a pet…"

The pointer moved to the box before the pet, which was a Steel grade equip, but it was moving very slowly, as if it could stop at any moment. Lu Li had the urge to jump into the wheel himself to help the pointer move.

"A little more, just a little more!"

If someone saw the number one gamer in Dawn like this, they would probably be shocked. What kind of equipment could make him so eager and anxious? Was it Dark Gold? Or even legendary…

The pointer stopped in-between the Steel equip and the pet.

"It's on the line! It's on the line, right? No way it could be like this; just a little more!" Lu Li shouted in a crazed manner.
