Regardless, as a 15 point mission, it was too good of an opportunity to miss.

Lu Li accepted the quest and moved his eyes away from Mr. A. He carefully inspected the people around him to check their reactions when Mr. A entered. Clearly, he wasn’t going to be satisfied with just accomplishing this quest; his targets were the players he was competing against.

A player was forcing his way towards Mr. A and Lu Li happened to be blocking his path.

Lu Li didn’t look at him, but he cursed loudly when they bumped into each other.

“Watch out – you wanna die?!”

The player didn’t mind too much that a local had sworn at him. All he could see right now were the fifteen points that were floating before his eyes. He even began to apologize, without pushing away the hand that touched him.

Suddenly, he felt a strong sense of pain, and when he tried to look for the local again, he couldn’t find him.

With a bitter smile on the corner of his lips, another player had been disqualified.

Mr. A became Lu Li’s best helper; anyone who approached or looked at him was most likely a potential target that he didn’t have to worry about killing by mistake. Within the span of a few short minutes, Lu Li had killed another seven people and his score had reached a total of 32.

The body guards protected Mr. A as he entered the area. They chose a table for him to settle and soon, some pretty girls approached to accompany him.

Lu Li remained near him within a one-hundred-yard radius, but he never actually got close, even if he had a few chances to brush past his target.

He wouldn’t do something like that. Firstly, he wanted to keep hunting for points. Secondly, he knew that he would have a red name status for at least five minutes after he killed his target. He definitely wouldn’t be able to make it out of this crowded place with a red name on him.

As such, he continued to kill players while he searched for other possible escapes once he completed his quest.

Finally, a player successfully approached Mr. A. He pretended as if nothing was going on and seemed as if he just needed to have a talk with him.

The bodyguards of Mr. A had begun pay attention to this player as soon as he approached.

Lu Li shook his head in the dark and his heart was filled with pity, because this player overestimated himself.

Clearly, Mr. A was someone of status. From all the tattoos on his body, he was most likely a high-ranking gang member.

How would a normal person act when they ran into a gang boss?

Humble, nervous, anxious, perhaps with a bit of anticipation – why else would a normal person approach someone like this?

Just when the player thought that he had earned himself some temporary trust, two bodyguards suddenly held him from left and right. Another stronger bodyguard walked over and punched him in the chest.

Sssss!

Even Lu Li couldn’t help but take a deep breath. Although this was a game, the scene in front of him was still a little rough to take in.

This poor player had begun to vomit blood by the second punch, and had most likely lost his senses by the last few.

His corpse was tossed to the side, but all the locals gave no reaction to this scene. They continued to express their passion and kindness in this rowdy and dirty environment, as if they had seen nothing at all.

The other two players who were about to approach halted themselves and began to re-think their approach.

Lu Li didn’t have this kind of issue to worry about, because these two players had become his next targets.

However, he was still cautious. Even if all the players had their attention on Mr. A, he could still expose himself if he made things too obvious.

After he took down the two players, Lu Li’s total score had reached 50.

He had earned himself almost 40 points in such a short span of time, more than double the reward for assassinating Mr. A himself.

These players were all focused on Mr. A; they had lost sight of everything else.

Lu Li continued his hunt in this night club as time slipped by. In the end, he still couldn’t find a way to escape with a red name on his head.

He checked the time and wiped the bloodstains on his knife, then packed it away and found some clothes on a couch to change his bloodstained shirt. After this, he walked out of the night club.

There was no punishment for not completing the quest, so it wasn’t worth it for him to take the risk.

Lu Li stood on the road to have a smoke after he left, just to confirm that Mr. A wouldn’t be coming out anytime soon.

There were some slight differences between the game world and reality. Assassination attempts had been made consecutively and one of his bodyguards had even been killed, but Mr. A was still enjoying his time in the nightclub.

Lu Li complained silently while he called for a taxi.

In the next few hours, he wandered around in the city, visiting various bars and nightclubs.

He also took up multiple quests that were similar to Mr. A’s quest. Lu Li managed to complete one of these because everyone around his assassination target ended up dead and there was an escape route available. None of the other quests were completed.

For Lu Li, his first priority was his safety, then the points.

From the entire night’s efforts, he had amassed a total of 360 points.

If he remembered correctly, the champion of this game during the first season had won with around 200 points. It wasn’t that 300+ points had never been achieved, but those who had exceeded this total couldn’t resist the temptations in the end and failed in the last step.

The later the game, the more dangerous it became. It was as if the System was trying to trip up the players.

Three gangsters found Lu Li’s hideout.

These were all locals, but they wouldn’t go gentle on Lu Li just because he seemed like one of them. As for the reason why they were fighting, they were looking for people to rob.

Lu Li didn’t bother with begging for mercy. His fist struck out even before these gangsters had finished their sentences.

He was even better at fighting than playing his Thief class.

He had only played as a Thief for 3 months, but he had fought for dozens of years against all sorts of different opponents.

Soon, these three gangsters dropped to the floor and Lu Li pulled out his knife. He cruelly broke their arms and legs, filled their mouths and tossed them into the bins nearby.

If they didn’t die, Lu Li wouldn’t have a red name and could continue to hide in this alleyway until the game time was up.
