Chapter 986: A Strong Weapon Upgrade

According to Lu Li, the Arathi Highlands were a very dangerous place because of Princess Myzrael

Whenever the players failed to kill her at this part of the quest, the Regenerated Myzrael would chase them around until the System removed her an hour after she was summoned.

After she regenerated her strength, Myzrael was almost unmatched. Anyone that stood in front of her would be instantly killed.

“Increase your damage output. Did you guys not eat or something?” Lu Li knew how strong the princess was after she had regenerated, so he urged everyone to hurry up.

Upon Lu Li’s urging, the team of twenty players spent a little over ten minutes to put the weak princess at Critical HP.

“You sad adventures, why do you side with my enemies to deprive me of my freedom?” Myzrael had no more strength to fight and began to panic. She even put aside her pride and started to plead for mercy.

However, Lu Li and the others were not fools. After everything they had seen, they already knew what she was up to.

“Damn giants! I will return…”

As the HP of the Princess of the Earth ran out, her huge body smashed onto the ground and turned to dust. The battle lasted for 12 minutes and Myzrael had barely regenerated any of her original strength.

“Alright, everyone come and loot the body,” Lu Li said as he took the lead.

“Hey, NO!”

When they saw that Lu Li was about loot the body, his teammates panicked. They already knew how bad the item would be if this unlucky person looted it.

Lu Li was usually quite conscious of this fact, but he must have gotten confused today somehow.

“…” Although Lu Li had always been unlucky, surely the item couldn’t have been that bad? Why did it seem like it would be the end of the world if he looted the Boss?

However, since he had already touched the Boss, no one else could do it now.

In fact, the Princess of the Earth didn’t drop anything other than a peculiar item that anyone could have acquired – The Myzrael Gem.

This gem could only be set on a weapon, taking up one of its slots. Its effect was quite simple; it caused the user to lose 30HP every second…

After seeing the attributes of the gem, everyone suddenly came to the same realization.

Ordinary players generally didn’t use these kinds of gems because they would use up a precious slot on a weapon. The special effect also caused the user to use 30HP every second, which meant that a squishy player couldn’t use it.

However, a PVP veteran like Moonlight immediately understood the benefits of this special effect a glance.

There were a few similar situations that one could face in Dawn, such as stepping in a Hunter’s Trap, being Frozen by a Frost Nova, being hit by a Thief’s Sap or being Polymorphed by a Mage…

The similarity between these crowd control effects was that they would be cancelled once the target was damaged.

One of the biggest threats in the Seventh Heaven Club that they were going to face today was the Infinite Poly. He would repeated cast Polymorph on the same person, effectively taking that person out of the fight.

However, with this gem inserted, you could turn on the special effect to overcome that crowd control.

As long as you were continually taking damage, you could free yourself from the Polymorph. At that time, you might even be able to take Lucky Southern Persian by surprise.

Of course, Lu Li had not forgotten to deal with the Princess of the Earth’s body.

Myzrael was born of the earth and would always exist in Dawn. Eventually, her body would condense back into a Stone Giant. She had to be re-sealed to ensure that she would remain here after she was revived.

After confirming that everyone had received their gem, Lu Li took out the newly unlocked shackles and used them on Myzrael’s body.

The Princess of the Earth’s body gradually faded as the crystals regenerated. The runes along the Arathi Highlands once again lit up as the stone giant was resealed.

The moment that the seal was completed, the entire Arathi Highlands were filled with Myzrael’s lamenting.

“Let’s go claim our reward.”

Myzrael’s gems were only part of the rewards; the real quest was finding Theldurin the Lost. This long-winded quest was known for its great EXP and Prestige reward.

When he saw Lu Li and the others again, Theldurin the Lost had completely abandoned his pride.

He took the initiative and happily greeted Lu Li and the others, “My heroes, you have saved the world.”

It was a little bit embarrassing; they didn’t feel like they had done that much.

Lu Li was completely shameless as he responded with an even more embarrassing line.

“We only did what we had to do. We will try to continue getting stronger and making Azeroth a more peaceful place.”

However, he had no choice. If someone with a Charisma value as low as himself didn’t say something to this effect, they would lose a significant portion of their rewards.

The Uncle Dwarf rambled on about a few more useless things before finally giving out the rewards. The first person he gave a reward to was Hachi Chan. There was nothing Lu Li could have said to prevent that from happening.

She received an Enhanced Ray Blink and also managed to reach level 49, surpassing Lonesome Flower and Azure Sea Breeze.

The others also gained EXP and some rewards. Azure Sea Breeze, Lonesome Flower, Sakura Memories and March Rain all also reached level 49, which placed Ruling Sword on the top of the Level Rankings once again.

Prior to this, Lu Li was the only player in Dawn that was level 49.

Lu Li’s EXP bar moved forwards by quite a bit, but he still hadn’t made it out of level 49. There was only a bit left before he reached level 50, which he was aiming for before the finals.

He wanted to use some level 50 equipment, as even the best level 30+ equipment couldn’t be compared to them.

After he set the gem, he needed the practice using it. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to do it in a match. Square Root 3 selected a group of Mages from the guild who were responsible for casting Polymorph on the professional players.

The most important aspect was the timing of turning on and off the special effect. They had to memorize the timings by heart.

Losing 30HP per second meant that they would lost 300HP in ten seconds. Almost no profession could handle losing that much HP, so they couldn’t leave the Special Effect on for too long. Even Warriors and Paladins with a great amount of HP couldn’t leave it on for much longer.

For a squishy Priest like March Rain, there was a risk that she might even end up killing herself.

As such, Lu Li focused on learning how to make good use of this special effect. Lucky Southern Persian’s Polymorph could apparently be cast indefinitely, but that didn’t mean that the skill didn’t require time and coordination to cast. As long as he kept a close watch, he could deal with the Polymorph within one or two ticks of damage and not lose too much HP.

The players outside of Ruling Sword were also becoming excited in anticipation for the match that was taking place that afternoon.
