The Most Loving Marriage In History: Master Mu’s Pampered Wife

Chapter 1318 - Heartless 3

1318 Heartless 3

Gu Qiwu continued looking at the view down below as he replied Ah Yong coldly, “Leave it be.” He then lowered his head and took a sip of tea.

“How’s Lingshi? How’s the investigation process into Mu Yuchen and Ah Mo’s incident?” Gu Qiwu asked after a while.

Ah Yong carefully left the letter on the table. “Boss, Ms. Lingshi is alright. She’ll be discharged soon. As for Mu Lingmo, Mu Tangchuan and Mu Yuchen have sent people to search for him, and so has Qi Feng as well, but the whereabouts of Mu Lingmo and Qi Lei are still unknown.”

Gu Qiwu let out a cold burst of laughter. He turned around and put his teacup on the table, then he grabbed the letter and leaned back in the chair before slowly opening the letter…

He was familiar with the handwriting. Although it was just a couple of simple lines, he could sense Doris’s cheekiness within it.

Why would Mr. Gu require my help? Meeting declined!

With just those lines, Gu Qiwu could imagine how arrogant she was when writing the letter. He grinned coldly and grabbed a pack of cigarettes to slide a stick out and light it up. He then burned the letter…

What an arrogant woman!

Gu Qiwu’s eyes were cold and despicable.

“Find out where she is right now,” he said coldly.

Ah Yong was stunned for a moment. It took him a while to process who the woman Gu Qiwu was referring to. “Yes, Boss! By the way, would you like to meet Miss Lingsha? She doesn’t seem to have been doing well lately. I bumped into her in Qi Kai yesterday. It sounds like she’s having a rough time with Qi Feng…”

Gu Lingsha?

Gu Qiwu’s eyes calmed down slightly.

“Boss, regarding your decision with the legal consultants, Miss Lingsha will never agree to it. Moreover, Miss Lingshi is part of the Mu family now—”

Gu Qiwu interrupted Ah Yong, “You’re wrong. She’s my daughter with Mu Zixi. I should still give her whatever she deserves. As for Doris and Lingsha, I don’t think I’ve ever mistreated them all these years. I’ve fulfilled whatever responsibilities that I should, so I don’t owe them anything.

“I owe Lingshi the most. No matter what, it remains a fact that I’m her father. Mu Tangchuan is just her uncle and nothing more.”

Gu Qiwu was actually triggered by what he saw happen between Mu Tangchuan and Mu Lingshi when he visited the hospital. He could not help but imagine how wonderful it would be if Mu Tangchuan were him.

Ah Mo was a young and capable man, and he valued Mu Lingshi greatly as well. The two of them were slightly shaken when he mentioned plans against Mu Yuchen, and he was using this chance to think about how to resolve the conflict between him and his daughter, but now it felt like there was no remedy to the dire situation.

Perhaps, forgiveness was not the most important to him; it would be fine as long as they could live happily.

Gu Qiwu felt that he had always taken the path of a lone wolf, and it would probably continue being that way in the future too. Anyway, he had gotten used to it.

“Boss, Mu Tangchuan is pretty good towards Miss Lingshi. I investigated, and it shows that the older Mu couple thinks of Miss Lingshi as their own daughter, giving her even more attention than Mu Yuchen. It was the same when Master Lingtian was alive as well. They were actually slightly estranged from their son Mu Yuchen, but things got better after Xi Xiaye married him.”

Ah Yong was not someone who usually stuck his nose into places, but he noticed that Gu Qiwu was concerned. His boss was always a cold person, but he was also lonely. As his subordinate, he could not stand to see him like this any longer.

He did not and could not understand Gu Qiwu. However, sometimes Gu Qiwu’s loneliness made his subordinates feel sorry for him…

Gu Qiwu was stunned for a moment after hearing Ah Yong’s words, but he did not say anything and just took a deep breath. Then, he left the half cigarette in the ashtray and slowly walked back into the house.

Ah Yong just followed after him without saying anything.

Sickness was tough to endure, and Xi Xiaye was feeling terrible when the fever hit her. She felt weak all over in the next few days. As if to compensate for all the strength she overspent in the past, she had no energy and was pale.

Mu Yuchen stayed by her side and took care of her. Their home became his office, and Li Si would come over and deliver documents to him every day.

She had been waking up late at around 10 a.m. every day. She probably would have continued sleeping if Mu Yuchen did not wake her up to take medicine.

He called Dr. Zhong to take a look at her again, and Xi Xiaye felt slightly better after an injection, so she fell asleep again after a light lunch.

“Don’t worry, Master. Missus is just a little exhausted. Perhaps, she’s overworked herself lately, but she’ll be fine after recovering for some time,” Dr. Zhong comforted Mu Yuchen when he was leaving and noticed the worry in his eyes.

Mu Yuchen nodded. “Please come over in the morning for the next few days.”

“Yes, Master!” Dr. Zhong took a bow before leaving.

Just as he left, there was the voice of someone greeting from outside, “Good afternoon, Dr. Zhong!”

“Good afternoon, Master Su! Good afternoon, Assistant Li!”

“Good day, Dr. Zhong!”

Su Chen and Li Si?

Mu Yuchen paused as he was brewing tea by the sofa, but he then continued what he was doing just moments ago.
