The Wife of Hades

Chapter 148 - Shen Liya's Help

When they reached the top floor, Shen Liya suddenly stopped before they reached the door, looking around to make sure there was no one around.

Then, she turned to look at Mo Han and said in a low whisper, "I can help you."

---

An Luxia stayed inside her room, sitting on the couch without moving at all as she stared blankly at the wall. There were no windows in here at all, no possibility of getting out unless it was through the only door, but it was locked.

And no one was going to open it for her and let her go. She closed her eyes for what seemed like eternity, until suddenly, she heard a click. She jumped up from surprise, wondering where the sound came from, and the next second, the door was pushed open.

When she saw the person that came in, An Luxia's eyes dimmed as she turned around to sit back down. Shen Liya had come in and An Luxia knew that she was probably here to deliver her another meal or something.

She dropped back down onto the couch, closing her eyes again. For several seconds, she heard nothing, and she was getting confused on whether Shen Liya was still here, so she opened her eyes.

Once she opened them, her eyes met with Shen Liya, who was standing right in front of her. She stood up, looking at Shen Liya, who seemed a little off, "What are you here for?"

Shen Liya pressed her lips together as a ball of fire built inside her eyes, "Once you get out of this room, there will be a hallway. Run down that hallway and then turn left. Go all the way down and then turn right. You will enter a large room. Look to the left and you will see two doors. Take the door that is at the very corner of the room and then go up the stairs to the top. At the top, you should see another door. Go out and Mo Han will be waiting for you there."

Shen Liya paused after saying all that, hoping that An Luxia remembered, "I should have taken care of all the guards, but still be careful."

An Luxia wanted to ask Shen Liya why she was suddenly helping them, but there was no time for that. All she could do was quickly mumble, "Thank you," and then she ran out of the door.

Shen Liya watched her run and she let out a breath of relief as a heavy weight was lifted off of her shoulders. Then, she did not wait long and left the room as well, locking the door behind her as she ran down the hallway where An Luxia had disappeared.

An Luxia followed the directions Shen Liya had given her. She ran down the hallway as fast as she could, her heart jumping out of her chest as she made a left and then made a right. She found herself in the large room Shen Liya had told her she would see.

Two doors. . . She saw them and ran over. However, just as she reached the doors, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head and the next second, she could not remember what Shen Liya had told her. She looked around, wondering why she was out here.

Wasn't she in a room? Did she escape?

An Luxia looked around, not sure of where to go. There were two doors in front of her, one in the corner and the other one to the left.

Not sure of what to do, she randomly pushed open a door, which turned out to be the one on the left and ran in. It was dark and she did not know where she was going, and she continued to run forward until she suddenly heard several voices.

It seemed like a group of men and they were laughing and talking about something. Realizing that she had probably entered the wolves' den, An Luxia immediately turned around and began running down the direction she had come from.

"Did you hear that?" The chatter stopped as one of the men said. The other men also quieted down as they had caught the sound of footsteps as well.

One of the men stood up and walked towards the door, pushing it open into the darkness. He clicked a button and the lights were immediately turned on. He looked around, taking a step forward and did not see anything.

Realizing that he might have heard wrong, he shrugged, closed the lights, and entered the room again. Meanwhile, An Luxia had reached the door again, but because there was light and then suddenly it turned dark again, her eyes could not adjust and she ran straight into the door, her forehead banging against the hard wall.

It made a loud sound that echoed inside the narrow hallway, and she was dizzy for several seconds as the lights were suddenly turned on again.

The click of the lights turning on was almost like a switch, turning on the memories that had disappeared in her head once again. She remembered Shen Liya and. . . two doors. . . take the door that is at the very corner of the room and then go up the stairs to the top.

She could hear the nearing footsteps and a cold sweat broke out on her forehead as she pulled the door open and shut it right away, turning the lock on the outside.

She looked to the right and saw the door Shen Liya was talking about and pulled it open, running up the stairs, which turned steeply until she reached the top.

At the top, there was another door which she pulled open, and she immediately felt a gush of wind as she stepped outside. Before she could react, she was pulled into an embrace and she quickly recognized the familiar smell and body.

"Mo Han!"

---

After locking the door, Shen Liya waited outside for a while, leaning back against the wall and taking several deep breaths with her eyes closed. She pressed her lips tightly together, not making any noise and it almost seemed like no one was there.

She waited for about three minutes, and she looked down at her watch, making sure that she had given An Luxia enough time to run away. Then, she stood up straight and marched down the hallway, slowly breaking into a run as she reached Mo Siyan's office.

She then pushed the door open in a rush, banging it open against the wall. Mo Siyan looked up from his desk annoyedly, wondering who had barged in without even knocking. When he saw Shen Liya, he frowned, "Liya, what are you doing?! Why didn't you knock?"

Shen Liya pretended to be catching her breath as she pointed out the door, panting for air. Mo Siyan stood up from his seat, looking at her confusedly, "What happened? Why are you in such a rush?"

He had trained her since she was young to be a great killer like he was, so it was weird for him to see her in such bad shape. Why was she so tired? She could run several miles without even breathing quickly, so it was very uncommon to see her like this.

Shen Liya realized that her act might be getting a little overboard, and she looked up, saying, "An Luxia. . . She escaped!"

Mo Siyan gasped, looking at Shen Liya as if he was making sure that she was not lying. He forgot to react for several seconds, and after he finally recovered from the shock, he immediately screamed, "It's Mo Han! It has to be him! Didn't I tell you to escort him out of here?"

Shen Liya looked down guiltily, "I did, Uncle! I am certain that he was out of here and I locked the door as well!"

"When did she disappear?" Mo Siyan asked, still muttering, "It's Mo Han. . . "

"I don't know. I went to go check on her just before now after Mo Han was gone, but when I did, I saw an empty room. I came here right away."

Mo Siyan looked at his "niece", clenching his fists together before he suddenly barged out of the room, bumping past Shen Liya as he went, "It has to be Mo Han! I am certain he is still outside right now!"

Shen Liya stayed inside the room as she heard Mo Siyan screaming, "Everyone, get ready! Get your guns! It's time to fight!"

--- A while ago

Shen Liya and Mo Han slowly walked up the stairs with Shen Liya in front, both of them not saying anything.

When they reached the top floor, Shen Liya suddenly stopped before they reached the door, looking around to make sure there was no one around.

Then, she turned to look at Mo Han and said in a low whisper, "I can help you."

Mo Han, who had been looking at the ground, immediately looked up and eyed Shen Liya suspiciously, "You can?"

Shen Liya turned to face him, talking in a soft voice, "How many men did you bring?"
